8. Worms Armageddon (PSOne)

Following on from Hogs of War comes the original turn-based "blast-em-up" we like to call Worms. Worms Armageddon is the third in the hugely successful series and was released onto the PSOne in the year 2000. Worms consists of your team of weaponised worms setting to destroy the other teams (as well as the actual world they stand on). Worms has the title for the most bizarre weaponry I've ever seen in a game, which includes explosive sheep, toxic gas-excreting skunks, and - my personal favourite - the holy hand grenade. Worms is certainly a lot of fun and is mainly used for its multiplayer functions, so you can control your own group of worms on your own created terrain and challenge your friends to the bitter wormy death. Awesome.
