Pokémon: 10 Reasons Diamond, Pearl & Platinum Are Under-Appreciated
1. Massive Additions Of Cross-Gen Evolutions
The best thing that Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum featured was the addition of twenty-two new cross-gen final evolution Pokémon. These Pokémon included; Roserade, Ambipom, Mismagius, Honchcrow, Weavile, Magnezone, Lickilicky, Rhyperior, Tangrowth, Electivire, Magmortar, Togekiss, Yanmega, Leafeon, Glaceon, Gliscor, Mamoswine, Porygon-Z, Gallade, Probopass, Dusknoir, and Froslass. Oh my goodness that is a lot of Pocket Monsters.
Since Red and Blue there have always been Pokemon that felt incomplete like Electabuzz and Tangela. In the entire history of Pokemon, there has never been such a large number of Pokemon gaining a new evolution across a different Generation before, and it's unlikely we will ever get that many again.
With the Switch's Pokemon game coming out soon, and details still being kept sealed tight on it, all we can do is speculate as to when Diamond and Pearl will get there much deserved remake.
