Pokémon Presents: 5 Things We Learned

3. The 25th Anniversary Feels Like A Big Deal

After Zelda's 35th anniversary came and went with all the flair and ceremony of a wet fart at the dinner table, you'd have been forgiven for worrying that Pokemon would suffer a similar fate.

Thankfully, such concerns were groundless. As well as announcing a hat-trick of new titles, existing Pokemon games are featuring a host of events to celebrate Pokemon finally being old enough to buy booze in Delhi.

Pokemon Sword and Shield are getting the frankly terrifying Gigantamax Pikachu raids - where you can traumatize your children by making them beat the hell out of a Godzilla-sized version of their favourite Pokemon - while Pokemon Go brings the nostalgia with a series of Gen 1-themed legendary battles.

It's not just the franchise heavy-hitters that are getting in on the action. Lesser lights like Pokemon Cafe Mix and Pokemon Masters EX are also offering special rewards to mark the occasion.

Combined with the events going on outside the games themselves (such as Post Malone's recent virtual concert), The Pokemon Company have done stellar work in making Pokemon's 25th feel like a genuine event.
