Pokémon Sword & Shield: Ranking Every New Pokémon So Far
11. Duraludon
Duraludon could be one of Galar’s biggest hitters, but we just haven’t seen enough of it in action yet. Of all the new Pokémon revealed in the most recent trailer, it got probably the least screen time, which seems a little strange. It might just be though that Game Freak are playing their cards close to their chest for now.
It’s shown in the trailer battling Tyranitar, but hopefully that isn’t foreshadowing. In Johto, Tyranitar was one of the most popular ‘mons in the game, but wasn’t even accessible until you’d already beaten it.
If Duraludon is as powerful as it seems, they’re obviously not going to give it away on Route 1. Hopefully though it won’t take quite so long to get our hands on as Tyranitar; or more accurately, Larvitar.
It becomes only the second Steel Dragon type in the game’s history, joining the Legendary Dialga from Sinnoh in Gen IV. This makes it only weak to the lesser spotted Fighting and Ground types, making it a solid team member. Best keep it away from new gym leader Bea though, the Fighting type specialist we also met in the newest trailer.
