Pokémon Sword & Shield: Ranking Every New Pokémon So Far
10. Eldegoss
Eldegoss is the evolved form of Gossifleur, and therefore the only confirmed evolution we’ve seen so far. It’s likely Duraludon is the evolved form of something, but everything else Game Freak has shone a light on for now is either a first stage or a single stager; though Dreadknaw & Corviknight could be evolutions too.
This has lead to Eldegoss getting more screen time, featuring as Grass type gym leader Milo’s Pokémon in his battle with the protagonist. It was also used to shine a spotlight on Dynamaxing, which allows your Pokémon to grow to Godzilla sizes.
Consider it’s just been revealed that there’s also Gigamaxing, which appears to merge the idea for Dynamaxing with the idea for Megas, Eldegoss’ Dynamax isn’t as impressive at it was initially. Even then, it seemed like a bit of a tacked on gimmick, but now it raises the question of why Megas were removed even more.
However, none of that is poor Eldegoss’ fault. You can pretty much just copy and paste from Gossifleur though here. It’s another flower/plant, might get lost in the shuffle but might appeal to some, will be more memorable if encountered early.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
