Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 Review: 6 Ups & 4 Downs

6. Licenses Are Utilised With Immense Care

So, even though PES obviously doesn't boast as many licenses as FIFA, the licenses it does possess are all handled with great care. Stadiums are rendered in stunning detail, leaving its closest rival in the dust as far as that particular area of presentation is concerned, while crowds and of course the players themselves all look genuine.
Factor in the return of club legends to PES' repertoire, and for those lucky enough to support a team that has a license in the game, they're bound to leave with a much more satisfying experience than they would've found elsewhere.
It's a cut above the rest, as everything down to club-specific armbands are faithfully replicated in game to impart a more accurate impression of the culture surrounding a specific team.
Konami deserves particular praise in this regard, as it really is noticeable when they go above and beyond to depict a licensed club in game.
