PS4: 13 Severely Underrated Features You Must Try

13. Remote Play & Custom Button Mapping

It might not be a big one to people in school, living alone or likewise - but if you're hogging the TV for the sake of slashing off some more orc heads in Shadow of Mordor - it might be nice to let your significant other or house-sharer get a look in. Enter Remote Play, and Sony's answer to every situation where you're continually telling someone you're "Turning it off now!" only to prey a checkpoint is round the next corner. Basically it's just your PS4 pumping out its visual feed to a nearby PS Vita - which the PS3 could do with certain titles on the original PSP - except with the Vita's dual analogues and far better visual capabilities than the original couple of PSP models, it's a perfect compromise that retains living room harmony in the process. In addition, although every PS4 game can be beamed to a Vita, nearly all of them come with custom button mapping options too - something that was the only thing getting in the way at launch, whereby players were left struggling to use the back touchpad as a replacement for the shoulder buttons. Head over to the 'PS4 Link' option on the Vita, or 'System' > 'Remote Play Connection Settings' on the console to get started.
