PS4 Pro: 10 Ongoing Mistakes That Just Cost Sony This Generation
4. A Shoddy Network Experience
It's one thing to charge people for a service you used to deliver for free, but it's another entirely to up the price and give no discernible reason as to why.
In just August 2016, Sony announced they'd be increasing the subscription fees for PS Plus in North America, and yet we're not getting any better monthly freebies, the experience of using the PSN is as muddy as ever unless you know exactly what you're looking for, and it routinely goes down for "maintenance" every month.
Contrastingly, Xbox Live felt like a well-oiled machine across the 2000s. To this day it very much still is, but when you think of that network, you're reminded of multiplayer sessions and Xbox Live Arcade titles dropping with consistent quality.
When you think of the PSN, all that springs to mind is how much you're only really paying for it because you have to, not because you want to.
