PS5: 10 Iconic PlayStation Franchises Sony Needs To Revive

3. The Bouncer

The Bouncer Game
Squaresoft

You may have noticed the theme of this list: "If X game is this genre is getting a reboot, then why not Y?", and this entry is no different.

Of course, the logic behind this one is that if Streets of Rage can make a return after a twenty six year hiatus, then The Bouncer should get one after twenty.

Cast your mind back to the days of tech demos, when The Bouncer showcased something that would blow its predecessors out of the water. It may not have delivered on all of its promises and early boasts, but it damn well tried.

A massive game with a surprisingly deep story for a brawler, The Bouncer was a spectacle to behold (for its time). A comprehensive skill and multi-choice narrative system, it was only marred with weird button sensitivity inputs and obnoxious ragdoll physics.

Well, and its snooker-loopy story, but this was peak Squaresoft.

A return for Sion, Volt and Kou would be a much welcomed return, as the side-scrolling/3D brawler needs a shake-up. Less Quiet Man, more Bouncer sequel please.

Hopefully Kou will have had his terribly dated tattoos covered up by then.
