PS5: 10 Reasons You Should Be WORRIED
7. Same Old Tricks
Part of Sony's worrisome trajectory comes down to their marketing plan to promote the PS5.
While the first two Wired articles made it seem like Sony was playing things differently this time around, the Mark Cerny presentation proved otherwise. The company behind some of gaming's biggest consoles seems to be going down the same road it did back in 2016.
Back when the PS4 Pro got announced, the first details were revealed through a big presentation in New York City. The presentation mainly focused on all the technical details of the upgraded PS4, as well as the price.
The problem with that conference was that Sony was telling a whole lot, but couldn't properly show what they were talking about. HDR didn't translate through a live stream that ran at 1080p.
The most recent presentation has the same problems. Sony is talking a whole lot about what's going to be in the PlayStation 5, but they aren't showing people. This should be the number one priority for the company as showing the PS5's capabilities is what's going to get people to buy the console. Sony needs to be showing it's new hardware off, instead of talking about it.
