PS5: 5 Must-Buy Launch Games (And 5 That Will Suck)
7. Will Suck: Sackboy: A Big Adventure
It's always good for a newly released console to have a wide selection of launch titles, with a fun, family friendly plaformer a must. Needless to say, there's a huge amount of excitement surrounding the released of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, but it won't be among the titles available to play on launch day. Instead, there's Sackboy: A Big Adventure.
On the one hand, giving one of the "faces" of PlayStation his own game seems like a pretty good idea, but taking Sackboy out of that Little Big Planet world of creativity and throwing him into a mostly generic looking platformer feels akin to all the crummy spinoff games characters like Crash Bandicoot and Super Mario have starred in beyond their main franchises.
The four-player option is certainly intriguing, as are the unlockable costumes which are no doubt going to be included, but it's hard to get too excited about the game beyond that.
Sumo Digital have an okay track record, but with titles like Team Sonic Racing, Xbox Fitness, and various other disappointing spinoffs and sequels behind them, this is bound to underwhelm.
