How awesome is it to have a major AAA game announced and not have to wait 6+ months to play it?

Following its long-awaited reveal at The Game Awards, Mortal Kombat 11 will be in fans' hands barely four months later, and from the little we've seen so far, it looks awesome.

Fans will find out more with January 17's planned "community event" followed by a beta in March, but with the last two entries into the franchise showing something of a rejuvenation for the gory beat 'em up series, it's easy to be optimistic about NetherRealm knocking out another banger.

Plus, NetherRealm served up arguably the generation's best fighter with Injustice 2 last year, so hopefully they can deliver an equivalent effort for the iconic brawler series.
