Ranking 2019's Biggest Video Games By Hype
9. Days Gone
Release Date: April 26
Though there are many question marks surrounding this open-world zombie actioner - most of all that SIE Bend Studio hasn't released a strongly acclaimed AAA game since 2000's Syphon Filter 2 - Days Gone is nevertheless one of the year's most anticipated titles.
With its promise of an unprecedented volume of zombies on-screen and chasing down the player, its wide-open exploration complete with vehicular traversal and its strict focus on a robust single-player experience, could the developers end up surprising everyone?
On paper Days Gone has the making of a solid yet unremarkable 7/10 - and press previews don't move the needle at all - yet with Sony agreeing to delay the game for two months to allow more polishing, perhaps it won't end up yet another game pushed out before it was ready to be born.
It's going to be a sales behemoth unless the reviews are atrocious, and the hype is still palpable among the PS4 community. Fingers crossed it actually lives up to all that.
