26. Fallout ’76 (2018)

Fallout as an MMO seemed like a match made in heaven, and one that Bethesda was keen to make. Although a legal dispute had delayed the concept for many years, it eventually came in the form of this title.

However, as many of you know, '76 remains a continuous black mark on Bethesda Game Studios, partly due to a pre-order items fiascos and the PR that followed. But what about the game itself?

At launch, it wasn't great... or even good. It had bugs galore (even for a Bethesda game), game-breaking errors, and a barren campaign. The weird decision to omit NPCs completely left things feeling like a half-cooked main installment, instead of an epic online event.

But how does it fare now? After two years of patches and humble pie, Bethesda has amended the majority of the problems. It plays (for the most) smoothly, and the Wastelanders expansion has brought back NPCs.

Yet, while it works, it all boils down to being a pretty average Fallout game-as-service model... and that's it really.
