Ranking All Of Metal Gear Solid's Boss Battles From Worst To Best

47. Sniper Wolf - Underground Passage (MGS)

What should have been an entertaining boss fight is ruined by the sheer amount of busy-work it requires. After Sniper Wolf shoots Meryl, Snake has to backtrack all the way to the armoury to get a PSG-1 sniper rifle, and so by the time the duel actually begins, it's hard to feel all that thrilled about it. Once the player has the sniper rifle, it's a pretty simple stand-off (especially if you use Diazepam to steady your aim), but the sheer tedium of getting the rifle and returning to the boss fight makes this one feel like more of a chore than the fun standoff it so easily could have been. On the plus side, though, players get another battle against Wolf later on, and it's effortlessly superior.
