Brought in to develop racing spin-off series Forza Horizon, Playground co-developed the title with Turn 10 Studios - yet the fresh and popular approach to the series is often credited to this studio.
As mentioned, the Horizon series has arguably surpassed the original Forza Motorsports lineage and, in some ways, even Sony’s Gran Turismo - as Forza Horizon 4 became the must-play racing game of 2018.
Microsoft acquired the studio earlier this year, in a move that surprised no one. What's more unexpected, however, is that the publisher is using the developer for more than just pumping out countless Horizon games.
Playground have confirmed they've been working on a large-scale open-world RPG, with many leaks pointing to an all-new Fable instalment. The idea of this talented and tech-savvy developer taking on a new challenge with a cherished I.P. is drool-worthy indeed.
