Ranking All Soulsborne Games From Worst To Best

1. Bloodborne

Bloodborne Weapons
FromSoftware

Perhaps a controversial top spot for some; this PS4 exclusive was a polarising game for Dark Souls regulars due to its stubborn stance on play-style and lack of customisable depth - yet for those open to the new set of rules, it can deliver the most satisfying experience out the franchise.

Switching settings from dark fantasy to a Gothic world full of creatures straight out of a penny dreadful (and getting deliciously Lovecraftian in its mid-point). It was a refreshing step away from conventional expectations for its fans, with these nightmarish monstrosities not only challenging but genuinely horrifying as well.

Also, more unexpected is that Bloodborne sheds Dark Souls’ intricate choices in play-style, stats and armour. It forced you to go forward with one method and one method only; fast and aggressive. Some wrote it off as one-note but missed the point, Bloodborne made you comply with its rules, or crumble underneath them.

The game stripped down the ordeal by focusing on rip-roaring and challenging gameplay with absolutely zero fat on it. Add to that, a fascinating world with the strongest lore and plot-threads from the Soulsborne games - and it all boils down to a masterpiece experience.
