Miranda charts so high because of the creative idea behind her character, her importance to the ME2 plot and the fantastic performance of Yvonne Strahovski.

As the character who revived you at the beginning of ME2, she often feels like a guiding hand, especially through the early parts of the game. A lack of a recruitment mission was partly responsible for Jacob’s ranking sinking like a stone, but with Miranda it’s different. Her cutscenes with The Illusive Man gave her an initial mystery, while her slow change of allegiances across the game feels organic and well paced.

However, the execution of the great idea behind her conception leaves a little to be desired, which is ultimately what lands her in ninth. Considering all the intrigue of her being genetically engineered to be perfect and her younger sister being cloned, her loyalty mission is a fairly middle of the road run and gun set piece.

Many fans still wish there’d been more development of how creepy it is for a father to design his two daughters to have supermodel level beauty. For a franchise that normally had so much to say, Miranda marks a minor missed opportunity.
