Ranking Every Neversoft Tony Hawk Game From Worst To Best
5. Pro Skater 3
Pro Skater 3 tends to be overlooked by most fans, yet there’s a
lot to love from the third instalment. The game was the first release
on the Playstation
2 to feature online multiplayer. Players had a large selection of
multiplayer games to play, if they had the capabilities to access the
internet on their console.
The game finally introduced balance bars for grind and lip tricks, after debuting the feature for manuals in the previous edition. Crucially, the game added in the revert move. One of the most unappreciated tricks in the game, the revert added the ability to chain combos from vert ramps to flat ground. This meant that players could accumulate huge scores and pave the way for a new challenge in future games.
THPS 3 had the usual cast of pro skateboarders coming over from the first two games, but also added the option for a female player in the create-a-skater mode. Previously, the only playable female character was Elissa Steamer and the move aimed to help girls get into the sport, which was (and still is) an issue in the skateboard industry.
