Fans who were waiting so long for the Resident Evil 2 remake probably weren't expecting something as different and exciting as what we're getting. This is really the new standard of which remakes should be measured against.
Not only does Resident Evil 2 remake all of the elements from the original, it builds upon them and adds gameplay from Resident Evil 4, which is arguably the best game in the series.
All of this combines for one genuinely scary looking game, and one that we really can't wait for when it comes out in late January.
As one of the first big releases of 2019, here's hoping that Resident Evil 2 Remake can live up to the hype and create a new standard for 2019 to live up to.
