1. Nathan Drake
Other than Kratos I dont think there was any real question about who the face of Playstation is. As the protagonist of the critically acclaimed Uncharted series Nathan Drake is an everyman with unrivalled charm and likability. Like I mentioned with The Last of Us, Naughty Dog are unrivalled in the industry when it comes to characterisation. Uncharted was the game in which they began to perfect this art, which started with Crash Bandicoot and then Jak and Daxter. Everytime an Uncharted is announced at E3 the crowd erupts, which showcases the love for the games and characters. Maybe Naughty Dog is the face of Playstation. (I kid, I kid). The back-up characters in Uncharted, Sully, Elena, Cutter etc., are all great, individual characters, and really likable but Drake is the talisman. Hes funny, hes wily, hes interesting, hes likable, hes very loyal and hes not the stereotypical protagonist. Maybe its because the Uncharted games are so good and beloved by fans and critics alike. I dont think so, Drake was lovable right from the get go and his plain grey, long-sleeve top with gun straps and necklace he became instantly iconic for the Playstation community and has only became more and more so with each outing. One reason Drake is so popular is because he has much more depth than most video game protagonists. This was solidified in uncharted 3 when we got flashbacks to his past and how he met Sully, which only further endeared him with audience. So having played 3 games with him and watched him grow, develop relationships, then lose them and develop them again, and now with some background info, we really feel like we know him. Heck we dont even know if his real name is Drake but we dont care! Even though Kratos is much more recognisable than Drake, given the recent indifference to God of War: Ascension I think its safe to say Uncharted is a more popular series at this minute in time. Although Sonys 3 biggest series are, in order, Gran Turismo, God of War and then Uncharted, based on sales figures, thankfully a car is not the face of Playstation. Nathan Drake is the face of Playstation.
