Red Dead Online: 7 Reasons You Should Give It Another Chance
1. Rockstar's Track Record
The final and possibly most important reason that players should give RDO a second chance is its stellar developer. This is a Rockstar property and a massive one at that. They aren’t going to give us a half-arsed job and give up.
Whilst the beta was very bare-bones, it’s entirely possible that this was intended in order to keep in line with server capacity. When GTA launched their online service, they did have more content from the get-go, but this was at the cost of reliable servers. Fans from 2013 experienced lag, excruciating wait times and even being kicked from sessions altogether.
If Rockstar pay even half the attention and resource to RDO that they did to GTA then we’re on the road to something special. They’ve taken a risk by dripping content in, rather than rushing out their product to a sea of glitches, crashes and other technical issues.
However, if players are patient and continue to work with what they have, the rewards have the potential to be outstanding. A future of poker tournaments, bar brawls and all-out gang warfare may not be too far off.
Good things come to those who wait. In Rockstar we trust.
