Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Characters We Need To See
8. Javier Escuella
The least ceremoniously captured of John’s former gang members, Javier Escuella works as a hitman for Colonel Allende out of Nuevo Paraiso and helps to shelter Bill Williamson after Fort Mercer is stormed.
Despite being one of the trio of John's targets, Escuella is only seen in one mission and his back story is barely revealed, especially when compared to Bill and Dutch. RDR 2 would be a good chance for Rockstar to disclose more details about the main Mexican in Dutch’s gang and could show him as an inexperienced, nervous, and annoying member of the group who is constantly berated and put down by his peers.
On the flip side, he could be depicted as a malicious and conspiring snake who turned the others against John. There are many options the developers have when choosing how to craft his younger incarnation.
Escuella could be portrayed a number of ways and it would be interesting to see the origins of his character. With the lengths John went to in order to hunt him down in the first game, his persona deserves more exploring as to the pair’s history.
