Just like in Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar decided to add a spooky surprise for any player lost wandering in the swamps of Bluewater Marsh.

While GTA's ghost still has some mystery behind it, it is possible for dedicated individuals to uncover what caused Red Dead's swampy haunting.

Agnes Dowd can be found a total of 16 times as she recounts the events leading up to her death. Her ghost confirms that she did kill herself after horrific circumstances revolving around her father and a lover. It is also possible to find her grave nearby in Shady Belle, stating that she died on September 4th, 1883 - a mere two weeks before her hometown of Pleasance was massacred.

During Chapter 4, Reverend Swanson can also remark that he was seen the same ghost, alluding to a "woman in white" in the swamps. While Dowd has an eery green glow about her, the character model revealed in the files confirmed it to be the same ghost.
