Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Reasons It's Rockstar's Best Open-World Game

2. Shooting Has Never Been Better

As an outlaw, one of the things that you'll be doing a lot of is shooting people. Good thing it feels so good this time around.

Taking a lesson or two from Max Payne 3, Red Dead Redemption 2 has much more realistic and weighty shooting mechanics, which is a massive improvement on GTA V.

Speaking of Max Payne 3, Arthur also has a combat dive that he can use which certainly mixes things up a bit from the traditional (and useless) roll.

What really differentiates Red Dead Redemption 2 from any other Rockstar game is that everything, from rifles to pistols, really has a lot of kick and power to it. You actually feel like you're shooting something for once.

The impressive amount of detail also comes into play here, as the detail on each gun and the realistic reloading animations make each firefight feel visceral. Bullets whizz past your head in a flash, and the environment even ends up taking damage.

If you don't agree, try shooting someone in the head with a shotgun.

Jumping through portals, swinging through cities, destroying beings made of darkness and occasionally shooting a gun or two. I also write about games.
