Red Dead Redemption 2: 10 Ways Rockstar MUST Do Single Player DLC
5. Play As The O’Driscolls
For all Red Dead Redemption 2 has one of the most compelling open worlds and narratives of any game anywhere, there’s a few small parts which cut corners. Most of the tension and character comes from within the gang itself, with the rest of the characters given less focus.
Nowhere is this more noticeable than with the O’Driscolls.
Longtime rivals to the Van der Linde Gang, the O’Driscolls never really elevate themselves above being generic baddies. They’re a plot device to introduce Sadie, and Arthur’s capture is one of many fun set pieces, but they don’t offer all that much in terms of development.
They’re bad guys. The end.
By having Kieran in your ranks, there’s an opportunity to characterise the O’Driscolls a little more. However, it turns out he’s a low level grunt who hates everyone in the O’Driscolls and can’t wait to leave.
The upper echelons would likely remain untouched by DLC in order to keep the narrative solid. Giving us an insight into their gang by playing as ‘their Arthur’ might help flesh them out while keeping them as the main villains in the solo story.
