Red Dead Redemption 2 Revisted: 10 Awesome Details You Missed
3. Bonnie McFarlane's Back Story
One of the earliest faces of support in Red Dead Redemption was local rancher Bonnie MacFarlane, who helped John Marston following an ill-fated meeting with old chum Bill Williamson in the game's intro. Bonnie continued to side with John throughout the remainder of his life, a constant ally in his tribulations with Dutch and the Bureau.
When RDR2's map opens up to include New Austin, John can head down and visit MacFarlane's Ranch in Hennigan's Stead only to find she isn't there. One of the farmhands will explain that she - along with her father - have temporarily relocated, owing to the cholera outbreak that swept through Armadillo.
But Arthur can find out a little more about Bonnie earlier in the game. Just south of Van Horn Trading Post, Arthur can come across a gentleman washed up at the beach, seemingly dead.
Before Arthur can do anything/loot him, he gives Arthur a note and dies. The note - titled "Letter to Bonnie MacFarlane" - reveals that the newly-established corpse was a potential suiter of Bonnie, but was disapproved of by her father, and so went off to find fortune and favour to bring back to Bonnie that they could use to start a family.
