2. Strauss' Missions In New Hannover Are Inevitable

Arthur Morgan's demise had the unenviable task of trying to live up the passing of John Marston, a death that is still a delicate subject to broach with die-hards and occupies many a top 10 list covering video game tragedies.

Both men's cessations stem from similar feelings of unfairness - Marston was cut down by Edgar Ross and his men after Marston almost single-handedly brought down Dutch van der Linde for Ross, whilst Morgan just tried to do right by his gang family, protecting them and others as best he could, but inevitably succumbed to tuberculosis (in the good endings).

The more astute players were able to track back the cause of Morgan's infection to a series of uncomfortable, but seemingly innocuous missions for Leopold Strauss, the Van der Linde Gang's resident Austrian loan shark.

At first, the missions seem like extended fetch quests, hassling struggling folk for their loan repayments, a job that vexed Arthur anyway.

On the second time round with this new-found information, any attempts to do literally anything other than Strauss' debt collection will only lead to the same conclusion: There is no escape from Strauss' final client/victim Thomas Downes, the man who would infect Arthur with TB.
