Red Dead Redemption 2 Wishlist: 9 Features We Want To See

6. A More Vertically Modelled Map (Swimming & Climbing)

The original Red Dead Redemption boasted a strong and memorable open world for the most part, but it was also a very flat space that had more restrictions than you remember.

The rivers and lakes in the game in particular were seemingly only there to provide obstacles for the player and to artificially make the open world seem bigger, as you were always forced to navigate around them rather than being able to carve out your own path through them if you wanted to.

Consequently, although RDR had its fair share of high peaks and low canyons, the map for the sequel needs to be much more vertical in scope, allowing you to traverse mountainous regions as well as the depths of these masses of water.

While taking an approach like this helps in terms of the game's sheer scale and variety however, the more realistic geometry would make the world seem more authentic and lived-in, giving you more places to explore and nooks and crannies to find.
