William Burkin

Of course, the experiments didn’t stop there as the Umbrella Corporation has countless sites around the globe devoted to viral weaponry alone. But just down the road underneath Raccoon City, William Birkin was hard at work with the Golgotha Virus.

Better known as the G-Virus, this became an increased focus of Umbrella.

This corporation isn’t one that likes to see individuals rise past a certain level of power, and with the G-Virus, William was carving a little part of Umbrella out for himself. After becoming increasingly frustrated with Umbrella and with a new senior virologist on the scene, Alexia Ashford, she was fast rising in the ranks, and this was becoming the last straw.

Looking to sell T and G-Virus samples on the black market, William wanted out. This, of course, had to be stopped and saw Operation: “NESTWRECKER” put into place.

A small unit led by HUNK, was sent into the NEST to recover all samples of the G-Virus and apprehend Birkin, but that didn’t go to plan and Birkin was gunned down. In a last ditch effort, Birkin infected himself with the G-Virus, and not only caused the NEST to collapse, but he found and killed Alpha Team.

Only HUNK survived, but because of this Virus, samples leaked into the sewers and quickly destroyed Raccoon City.
