As is common for the RE series, RE7 apparently goes a little off-the-rails in its closing portion, inviting boredom as it fails to change things up sufficiently.
Many reviewers commented on the disappointing nature of the final boss in particular, which de-evolves into generic action nonsense rather than opting for something more grotesque and unconventional.
Some also noted the interesting direction in which the ending takes the franchise, though of course, we'll have to see that all for ourselves.
