2. The Game Has Been Restarted At Least Once
We know from recent leaks that the game was scrapped and started from scratch about eight months ago. At the time the concern was how many of the project's assets were being reused in the numbered Resident Evil 8, and therefore how long it would be before the game was released. Now, if these leaks are true, the development may have been split into this cleverly named title, with Resident Evil 8 starting from scratch.
Here's the thing though: the game was tested last year and a lot of the information in this list seems to have come from those playtests. The latest leak especially is based on those playtests, and multiple sources have confirmed the details of that. But we don't know which side of the restarted development any of this information is from.
Any of these things could show up in the unnamed 28th entry to the Resident Evil game series, or any of it could show up in Resident Evil 8 when it eventually shows up. Or, it could be that some of these details are smokescreens for other titles, or simply won't make it to the final product.
Much like the Socratic Paradox, if we know anything right now, it's that we know nothing.
