Resident Evil 8: Every Plot Detail You Need To Know
3. Dimitrescu Runs A "Wine" Business From The Castle
In the gameplay demo released exclusively for PS5, we finally got to see more of the title's gorgeous Gothic castle.
Playing as an unnamed person attempting to escape from the dungeon, players got their first insight into the goings on of the vampire-infested building. And what was discovered was just as unpleasant as you’d expect.
In addition to trying to capture Ethan for an unspecified ceremony, Dimitrescu appears to be operating a wine business from her castle’s cellar. However, environmental clues throughout the demo strongly suggest that the red liquid inside the ornate bottles isn't made from grapes.
From crude and excruciatingly painful looking torture devices in the dungeon where the demo starts to body parts sticking out of wine casks found deeper in the castle, the wine is definitely made from the drained blood of its victims.
Likewise, we also know from the demo that this business model has been operating since at least the 1950s. When exploring, players can find scraps of paper from a young maid employed at the castle who was likely taken to the cellar to be turned into wine. On the bright side, though, they're probably a good vintage by now.
