Resident Evil 8 Village: 10 Best Fan Theories You Need To Know

6. Why Chris Redfield Shot Mia

When it comes to Resident Evil, there really are only two that are contenders for the face of the franchise. That being Leon. S Kennedy and of course, the man on the box, Chris Redfield.

Far from his days as a babyfaced S.T.A.R.S. officer, Chris has become jaded and broken down over the years. But with the events of Village, will this all become too much for him?

By the time of Resident Evil 6, Chris had been fighting the good fight against all manner of creatures for well over fifteen years.

Eventually, this has to wear a person down and for a short time, it does. Fast forward to the present day, Chris is now part of the "Hound Wolf Squad", and have seemingly stepped up their fight against Bio-Organic Weapons (BOWs).

Maybe in this case, he's attempting to destroy them before they are unleashed? This could explain Chris' unceremonious execution of Mia in the trailers, or somebody is pulling the strings, OR he's trying to save Ethan and Mia's child, Rosemary.

It is hard to believe Chris has gone full bad guy after his boulder-punching days, but if he has, we can at least see why. It almost seems as if Capcom might be telegraphing his demise with this game, as unlikely as it seems.

Hardly anyone dies and stays down in RE, but if he does, this will be a bold choice.
