Resident Evil: The Good, The Bad, The Camp

17. Diaries

reisden Everyone in the Resident Evil franchise are compulsive diarists - from a sewer worker up to the bosses. Diaries are an essential plot device to move the action along and provide background information. The most famous diary entry is from the original Resident Evil. It belongs to a Researcher who is head of the dogs at the Arklay Laboratories. It describes in intimate detail what the T-Virus does to a human as the writer turns into a zombie. The final lines "Itchy, Tasty" have passed into Resident Evil fandom lore. The file is found in a bedroom in the Spencer Mansion and once you read it, the zombified researcher will burst out of the closet to chow down on you. Classic Resident Evil.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
