Resident Evil: The Good, The Bad, The Camp

16. Resident Evil Remake

resident evil gamecube In 2002 the Original Resident Evil was remade for the Nintendo GameCube. It was a good idea and a timely remake but for people who had played the original PSX version, it was a bit of a mind scramble in comparison. The graphics were excellent and the scare factor was upped considerably. What stood out for me is the fact that zombies and hunters can open doors. Eek. And those damned Crimson Heads. Some zombies don't die and unless you burn them or decapitate them, they come back as a semi-licker type creature with claws. Cue much annoying time spent filling gas cans and setting fire to zombies' bodies before they mutate. The remake also fills in several plot holes as well as explaining how Wesker escaped death at the hands of his Tyrant. There is also the Lisa plot line which is interesting and very sad. A much needed remake which gave us lots of information and fried our heads with all of the differences from the original. I thought it was very dark and scary.
