Rockstar Confirm Grand Theft Auto 6, Say Tokyo Can't Be Done

Grand Theft Auto London, please.

According to an anonymous source who spoke with Techradar this week, work has official begun on Grand Theft Auto VI. The source revealed that the location and setting of the game has not yet been decided, but that work on the preliminary planning is underway. The source also provided information on a canceled GTA game set in Tokyo. Rockstar had gone so far as to send a team to Tokyo to work out the logistics of doing a game in the Japanese capital. Not only that, but in 2003, Take Two interactive filed a trademark for GTA: Tokyo, as well as trademarks for GTA: Bogota and GTA: Sin City. The source revealed that one of the reasons the game was scrapped was due to the the road system in Tokyo being far too complicated to execute in-game. In addition, Rockstar promised nearly two years ago that we would be seeing some form of single player DLC, focused on the three main characters from the core game; Michael, Franklin and Trevor. We're still yet to see or hear anything official, which could mean they're now focusing on GTA VI? It is unknown when we will see anything on the newest instalment as it is so early on in its life cycle. Although Take Two Interactive did promise big things at E3, so don't rule out some sort of GTA-related announcement. Let us know in the comments if you're psyched for another GTA, and which location you'd like to see!
