Rocksteady Superman & Batman Arkham 2018: Everything We Know

4. Two Batman Games Have Apparently Been In Development

Though it's clear that WB Games Montreal have had to persevere in the face of some big changes since Arkham Origins released, they have been rumoured to be working on two different Batman titles.

One, dubbed Batman: Arkham Insurgency, is said to be set after the events of Arkham Origins and serve as the origin story of Dick Grayson's Robin. Given how Montreal and fellow developers Splash Damage went to the effort of making a Dick Grayson Robin model for Origins' multiplayer mode, this particular angle makes a great deal of sense; it also would allow Montreal to build upon the lore they established in Origins' story.

If you're not the type to believe the ostensible ramblings of a chagrinned Montreal employee, however, there is talk of the team having developed a markedly different kind of Bat-title. This other one is said to revolve around a Batman of the Future, except this one's not Terry McGinnis. Instead, the purported project is said to revolve around Damian Wayne, basing itself in part on the mythos established in Grant Morrison's Batman #666. (It's a great comic - just saying.)

These original rumours surfaced in late 2016, and nothing has been heard from since. That said, though it looks like Rocksteady could be set to unveil their next project first, don't be surprised if Montreal's is also made in tandem.

Now, if only it was possible to decide which Batman game sounds cooler...
