Rocksteady Superman & Batman Arkham 2018: Everything We Know
3. Montreal Recruited A Former Splinter Cell Director
No matter your opinion on the Arkham games, it's fair to say that they were found somewhat wanting in the stealth department. The idea was to empower the player as Batman, yes, but doing so eliminated much of the challenge to be had in taking on the role of a very human crimefighter; stick detective mode on, unlock the inverted takedown and POW, the entire element is made redundant.
It's an element that Montreal look set to rectify however. Patrick Redding, a former Ubisoft game director who worked extensively on Splinter Cell: Blacklist, has been with the folks at Montreal for a little over four years now - a move that's sure to get fans of stealth action in particular all kinds of excited.
While we won't be able to see how the change in direction has affected the series just yet, one would expect this newer Batman title to hone in on the character's ingenuity.
It's fine and dandy making him feel like a force of nature, but the Arkham games could certainly benefit from the challenge.
