Shadow Of The Colossus: Every Colossus Ranked From Worst To Best

11. Pelagia (Colossus #12)

Pelagia is a potentially awesome colossus undone by some clunky enemy AI that can make the battle more irritating and drawn-out than fun.

The player must lure the creature to one of the stone pillars in the water, then leap out, swim around Pelagia's body, climb up its furry back, knock the stones on top of its head to "steer" it towards a stone platform, leap off, hide, wait for Pelagia to bare its stomach, jump onto its stomach and stab away.

It can be a soul-crushingly protracted process, especially as the creature doesn't always respond in predictable ways, and swimming around it can take way too long. It's a shame more wasn't done with the idea of riding a colossus, because with some tweaking, this could've been one of the game's best fights.
