SimCity: 9 Reasons It's Awesome (And 1 Reason It Sucks)

4. Superb Tutorial

007 Though thanks to the easy to use interface you probably won't need to consult it much, there is an excellent tutorial packaged with the game, presumably aimed at those who have never played a SimCity title before. In the tutorial, you play the Mayor of a city going down the tubes, and you've got to save it; it's a smart way to throw players in at the deep end and show them every last thing that could go wrong before letting them loose on their own creation. You're talked through every aspect of the game, from dealing with unruly citizens, to building roads and developing an industry, which helps to demonstrate the cause and effect of your actions, something that is vital to understand before you set off creating. Once this is over, various pop-ups and tips appear during play, such as suggesting how you should build roads, and city advisors will even chime in to suggest upgrade missions when you have a little downtime. Best of all, though, the tutorial also gets you acquainted with my favourite - but also the most troubling - aspect of SimCity; the online play.
