Skyrim: 10 Most Useful Shouts and Where to Learn Them

Whirlwind Sprint

€œThe Thu'um rushes forward, carrying you in its wake with the speed of a tempest.€ Words: WULD (Whirlwind), NAH (Fury), KEST (Tempest) Whirlwind Sprint allows the player to accelerate horizontally at great speed, at a range of 50 feet with the first word, growing to 75 and 100 feet in tandem with the other two words. It€™s learned during your Thu€™um training with the Grey Beards at High Hrothgar and is actually required to complete certain quests in the game (that contain timed switches or the like as obstacles). I€™d say that in and of itself makes this shout pretty handy. Uses: Whirlwind sprint will get you out of a number of binds, allowing you to escape from a losing battle sharpish, cross gaps reaching previously inaccessible ledges and areas or even just to speed up your travels across the huge world map if you€™re horseless. I€™ve used Whirlwind Sprint on a number of occasions when I€™ve been stuck in a bugged area (of which there are a few!) to free myself and if you ever find yourself over-encumbered but unwilling to drop anything, this shout will still work meaning you can get yourself back to the nearest chest/shop in half the time. Where to Learn: WULD: High Hrothgar NAH: Dead Man€™s Respite KEST: Volskygge
