Skyrim: 10 Most Useful Shouts and Where to Learn Them

Disarm

€œShout defies steel, as you rip the weapon from an opponent's grasp.€ Words: ZUN (Weapon), HAAL (Hand), VIIK (Defeat) Another shout here that does exactly what you might expect. Disarm will tear the weapons right out of the hands of anyone in its path (up to level 30 at it's full potency) leaving them on the floor for a few seconds until they€™re then picked up again€unless you€™ve picked them up first. With one word only, your targets will only drop their steel if they€™re level 12 or below, but learning the subsequent parts of the phrase will up that cap to level 20 and 30 respectively. Uses: There€™s always the risk with a technique as basic in its core function as Disarm that it€™ll be forgotten amongst some of the more impressive, multi-purpose shouts that are available in Skyrim. But it€™s an essential one for anyone playing as one of the lower armour classes such as a thief or a mage. After all, if you€™re stood there in a robe about to go toe to toe with an armoured enemy surely you€™d rather him be swordless right? If you€™re good and you timed the shout right you might even be able to disarm an entire chamber filled with powerful enemies and if you€™re even better you might have even managed to collect all of their weapons leaving them pathetically impotent. Then all you€™d need to do was mop up! This kind of strategy is the difference between a good Skyrim player and a great one. Where to Learn: ZUN: Eldersblood Peak HAAL: Silverdrift Lair VIIK: Snow Veil Sanctum
