Skyrim: 16 Best Mods Of All Time

1. Quest - Falskaar

Bethesda

The mod so complete, the author was given a job at Bungie to work on Halo. This mod gives you a whole new world to explore and rescue from a new threat, totally lore-friendly and to the standards that you would expect from an official Bethesda expansion.

This fantastic quest takes players through a dwemer ruin, leading to a portal that takes you to the titular island of Falskaar. You are immediately thrown into the middle of a civil war centred around the main antagonist Yngvarr's quest for power, specifically an artefact called the Heart of the Gods which would give him unlimited power.

The quest would take around 30 hours to complete and every character on the island from the main NPCs to random bandits are fully custom voiced. Various armours and weapons are custom made for the mod, and the layout of the new land is breath-taking, truly bringing back that sense of magic as if you were stepping back into Skyrim for the first time.

A true labour of love if their ever was one, Falskaar ranks among the greatest video game fan creations.
