Skyrim Dawnguard Expansion Pack To Remain An Xbox 360 Exclusive?
There are concerns that Dawnguard may not be released on the Sony console at all.
On the same day What Culture told you that Dawnguard, the long awaited expansion pack for Skyrim, has been delayed on the PS3, there are now concerns that it may not be released on the Sony console at all. It had been expected that after the 30-day period of exclusivity on the Xbox, which expired yesterday, it would then make its way onto the PS3 console and PC. However, in the wake of the delay, Bethesda marketing executive Pete Hines posted the following statement on micro-blog site Twitter:
"we have not announced Dawnguard for any other platform, nor given a timeline for any such news. If we have news, I promise I'd tell you."The announcement was met with fury. One user, using the name Steffen_Spiess fumed:
"I'd prefer it if you put on a lil lipstick and give me a kiss the next time you decide to f*** all of us PS3 users!"It was thought that the reason for the games delay on the PS3 was due to a patch, known as "Update 1.7", falling behind schedule. Update 1.7 is mandatory as it was suspected that it was needed to prepare Skyrim for the expansion DLC. We already know what is contained within the update - mostly bug fixes and the ability of mounted combat. 1.7 is considered a "General memory and stability optimizer". Unfortunately, it seems this is all PS3 users will be getting when the patch lands in early August. What do you think of the delay? Do you think Dawnguard will remain an Xbox exclusive?
