SNES Classic Mini: 20 Video Games It Must Have
2. Super Mario Kart
The classic kart racer that started the long-running series; Super Mario Kart was the silly to launch title F-Zero's serious.
Colourful cartoon visuals and races that were about coin collecting and weapon battling just as much as cornering, Mario Kart cemented its status as multiplayer game of choice and has many imitators over the decades yet has never been bested.
The characters, tracks and music were all a part or extension of the Mario universe and Koopa shells took on a whole new meaning as red shells could mean the difference between victory or defeat. A range of clever weapons and increasing difficulty to 150cc allowed for great replayability.
It’s a genuine compliment to say Super Mario Kart still holds up today.
