Spider-Man PS4: 10 Hidden Secrets You Totally Missed
3. A Bittersweet Proposal
If you thought Uncle Ben's grave was sad, this one is on a whole other level.
Four months before Spider-Man PS4 released, Super-fan Tyler Schultz tweeted to Insomniac asking if they would help him propose to his girlfriend of five years by including a message to her. Being the nice people they are, the developers at Insomniac obliged, but not before asking if she would be able to wait until the game released four months later.
To say Schultz was confident is an understatement.
"We've just past our five years in April, so I think she'll still be around"
This would have been the perfect love story, immortalised in one of the best Superhero games of all time. The only problem? Maddie left Schult just a few weeks before the games released. What's worse, according to Schultz she left him for his brother!
Insomniac provided sympathies to Schultz, and even offered to change the sign to anything else. He refused, however, as he was just happy to have it in the game and it was a cool story.
If you want to see the sign for yourself and imagine what could have been, it's located in the northern area of the Financial District.
