8. Classic Spidey References

There's nothing quite like a good shot of Spidey posing for the camera, and yesterday's trailer came complete with plenty of them.

The standout one, however, came in Peter's apartment of all places, and it's not even because of the character himself. No, what's most interesting about this shot lies in the background, as Insomniac have seemingly dedicated their time to making sure Pete's apartment is chock full of references to classic Spidey literature.

To the left of the shot you can see a poster of Spidey's wrestling days, in what looks to be a nod to Amazing Spider-Man #15 which marked the character's very first appearance. Crusher Hogan was the actual wrestler who faced off with Spidey in the ring (not Bonesaw McGraw), and you can see his name right on there next to his.

The next thing to make note of are the photos on Peter's cabinet, the first of which clearly features Aunt May and Uncle Ben together. The people to the left of that photo are a tad more difficult to pin down, but one would assume that it's of Peter, MJ and Harry Osborn together during their high school years.

It's subtle work on Insomniac's behalf, but one that most certainly won't go unappreciated by diehard web-heads out there.
