Star Wars Battlefront: 10 Burning Questions EA Need To Answer

6. Will It Have Battlefield's Patented Levels Of Destruction?

For all its faults and failings, one thing EA have demonstrated an ability to absolutely nail in Battlefield is the way you interact with the world around you. The most recent instalments have featured a feature called Levolution, that ranged from the simple things like cutting the power and removing obstacles, right the way up to blowing up a dam and brining down entire buildings. Destructible landscapes played a huge role in Battlefield, and the ability to reshape the playing area added a ingenious new dimension to the tactics of online combat. It's a feature that would, in a sci-fi environment, offer almost limitless possibilities, so surely some plan must have been made to bring this feature to Star Wars: Battlefront. Well, sort of. In a recent interview DICE GM Patrick Bach explained that they "won't do excessive destruction just because we can. It's more about 'what do you need and what you want' in a Battlefield game versus a Battlefront game. We're using destruction where it make sense but also working to create something that is authentic to the universe". So it's in there, but fans will want to know to what extent. Blowing up a Stormtrooper's cover sounds pretty fun, but nowhere near as fun as felling two trees right into the cockpit of an AT-ST.
