Star Wars Battlefront: 10 Crippling Issues That Must Be Fixed
7. Squad Commands & Marking Enemies
The killing blow to Battlefront in the long run - as I'm sure it's too late to implement this - is the lack of a dedicated quick-fire command system. Metal Gear Online and countless other shooters have implemented a 'quick-select' dialogue wheel to rally soldiers behind a common objective, and considering these days it's one in every 30 players who actually mics up and talks regularly like the first few years of Xbox Live, it's this lack of working together that's crippled most matches so far. For both sides, Battlefront could implement Battlefield's marker system, allowing for a "Focus fire on X target" command or letting you mark your attacker if you know you're about to be taken out. Right now you barely even feel like one cog in a giant machine - more a detached piece in desperate need of implementation, desperately searching for purpose as you shoot, die and respawn until it's all over.
